Description

The Samanid Mausoleum (9th–10th c.) is the oldest surviving brick monument in Central Asia. Its intricate fired-brick patterns shimmer with light and shadow throughout the day. The mausoleum belongs to Ismail Samani, founder of the Samanid dynasty, and his descendants.
